Thirty-six volts is the trolling motor voltage, and this is what keeps that bank charged while running between spots. Without it, a 36V trolling bank only charges on shore power overnight. The 12V to 36V step is the largest in the Dolphin range, and 20 amps is what a 12V alternator can reasonably give up. Drawing more would load the engine’s charging system beyond its design, so this tops up rather than fully recovering a flat bank.
